Unfortunately it’s a depressingly familiar story. Change programmes and IT systems, launched with the highest of hopes, simply fail to deliver. Deadlines are missed, budgets over-run, business benefits are not realised. In the majority of cases, these expensive losses could have been avoided.

EDF Energy wanted to bring about significant savings and efficiencies within its two coal fired power stations in Lincolnshire. The project team had to define, setup and deliver this integration. The programme would include the core processes of the organisation, relationships with centralised services functions and identification of business continuity and disaster recovery solutions. It also included a variety of organisation reshaping, process and systems related projects realising synergy and improvement benefits while developing scalable best-practice processes.
The Metaskil team worked hand-in-hand with staff and management from all stakeholder groups to define and agree:
- Development of the business case. - Organisation and management structures - Process and systems requirements - Harmonised staff terms and conditions and all communications between staff and Unions - Programmes structures and reporting
The project was completed successfully and resulted in cost savings of 30% over five years.
